Empowering Immigrants Through Communication

Using themes of Education and Goals, Jobs, Housing and Community, Financial Literacy, Health and Wellness, and Civics, The Welcome Project introduces students to community resources, the nuances of a new culture, and opportunities to engage in the civic life of the city while developing English skills. 

Classes are full for this semester. More space will be available in January.

Course Schedule

• Classes meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays.
• Classes are available in the morning (9:30am to 12pm) or in the evening (6:30pm to 8:30pm), with both in-person and online classes. 
• Four levels of classes from beginner to advanced.
• We offer free reading, writing, and conversation classes and private tutoring during the year.
• Classes are two semesters, with registration in August and January.

Cost

• Students must pay a registration fee of $30.
• Scholarships are available to cover this cost and residents of public housing are exempt from these fees.
