Educating Parents for Their Children's Future
Launched in partnership with the Somerville and Medford Public School systems, English For Parents (EFP) aims to provide a crucial service for our immigrant community.
Many immigrants come to this country not for themselves, but for the opportunity this country can provide for their children. To that end, many immigrant parents are finding a significant language barrier between themselves and their children, preventing them from helping them with their homework. The purpose of this program is to break down those barriers and allow the immigrant parents to have the understanding and confidence to engage with their children's schools, such as in PTA meetings or teacher conferences.
