YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City
The Welcome Project is excited to announce our
11th Annual YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City Celebration
To protect the health and safety of our staff and volunteers, our event has been postponed to a later date. Please join us on Wednesday, June 10th 2020 at the Arts at the Armory.
YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City is The Welcome Project’s annual fundraiser held at The Center for Arts at the Armory in Somerville. YUM is a huge part of what makes The Welcome Project’s daily programming possible.
YUM is a fun night that offers attendees the opportunity to taste delicious and authentic cuisines from countries such as Mexico, Ethiopia, India, and to participate in a silent auction and raffles. YUM also offers the opportunity to learn from and engage with many of the people and initiatives that strengthen our intercultural community. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating our local immigrant communities and the tireless work of our volunteers.
In the meantime, please help support our YUM restaurant partners during the COVID-19 crisis:

Restaurant Program Card (Participating Restaurants)
Anyone else craving authentic Ethiopian, Indian, Nepali, Mexican, Italian or Portuguese cuisine?
Here at The Welcome Project, we decided it was time for everyone to have the opportunity to discover (and feast at!!) our immigrant-run, partner restaurants at a discount. Our YUM card can be used at all eight participating restaurants, listed above.
By using our YUM Card at participating restaurants, you will do three things:
You will support local immigrant run-restaurants and the local economy.
You will support The Welcome Project, its focus on education and leadership for immigrant youth and adults, and its ongoing community partnerships.
You will get discounts on delicious, locally-sourced food! Each time you show the YUM Restaurant Card at a participating restaurant, you receive 10% off orders of $25 or more for the full calendar year.
This year, the YUM card is FREE!
That means all you need to do is bring your YUM card to participating restaurants and receive 10% off orders of $25 or more.
With eight delicious, immigrant-run restaurants to choose from, there is no doubt you will use our YUM Card as many times as possible.
