Executive Director

The Welcome Project is seeking its next Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who can organize fierce advocacy to deepen the organization's impact in empowering the local immigrant community to become active leaders in civic engagement.

The Welcome Project seeks volunteer teachers to teach or assist with an ESOL class. Our 10-hour teacher training program combined with ongoing support prepares both novice and experienced teachers for success within our program.  After the initial training, volunteers teach or tutor English language learners 2 or 4 hours a week plus preparation time and monthly meetings.

We are currently accepting applications for volunteers to teach morning or evening classes, as well as tutors who are interested in working with individual learners. We also have opportunities with our youth interpretation training program, and our College and Career Readiness program. Full-Time Youth Programs Coordinator

We are hiring for a full-time Youth Programs Coordinator to start in June 2022 to support the various youth programs at The Welcome Project. Programs include Liaison Interpreter Program of Somerville (LIPS), College and Career Readiness program (CACR) and the Explore Summer and Culture Identity Program (Summer Camp).

Full-Time Development Coordinator

We are hiring a Development Coordinator to support the overall fundraising efforts of the organization. The associate works collaboratively with staff and serves as a key partner to the Executive Director, to maintain efficient development operations and to strengthen and build relationships with our supporters. In this role, the Development Coordinator will be responsible for event coordination, donor relations, communications, and database management.

Senior Director of Adult Education & Family/Community Engagement (SDAE) 

The Senior Director of Adult Education & Family Community Engagement (SDAE) will report to and work with the Executive Director to oversee all aspects of education and educational policy. The SDAE will supervise the Director of Multilingual Education, and the English for Parents programs in Somerville and Medford, along with Medford's program coordinator. They will also supervise the Adult ESOL program. They will advocate and organize parents around school policies and issues.

Somerville Worker Center Coordinator 

The Somerville Worker Center seeks to hire a Director to develop and deliver workers' rights training, support workers' leadership development around their rights, and conduct outreach to unions to strengthen the Somerville Worker Center relationships. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience with a combination of: worker health & safety, wage theft, and/or adult participatory popular education. Quick learning-curve and uptake expected.

The Welcome Project is seeking an Administrative Executive Assistant to managing the day-to-day operations of the Administrative Office. They work closely with the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator and collaboratively with other key staff, anticipate needs and proactively address projects and issues with an emphasis on sound judgment, initiative and confidentiality.
