Women’s support groups
Since a large majority of the families in the Mystic Development are single mothers, we have made women’s support groups a priority. Groups are conducted in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Vietnamese on a bi-weekly or monthly basis depending on staff and volunteer availability. These groups have become a core for outreach and support work.

Support for individual development
One of our overall goals is to provide tenants with the skills, education, and opportunities that will enable them to become successful members of the larger community. We are accomplishing this through a variety of means including; recruitment and support for the Medical Interpreter Program in collaboration with the Cambridge Health Alliance and Cambridge College, and by hosting informational programs on education, health, housing, and legal topics. The Welcome Project employs Mystic tenants in our work whenever possible. Idyle Blanc and Yolande Louis, Mystic tenants, are currently working at the Welcome Project.
