Volunteers take part in all programs and occasionally assume program
management. This is one of the reasons for both
the diversity of our programs and the range of services.
Latina, Vietnamese, and Haitian women’s groups,
for example, are largely peer led, with staff assistance
as needed. The Homework Club is coordinated by staff, but
largely led by volunteers from Temple Emunah in Lexington,
MA with the support of volunteers from Tufts Hillel and
the Leonard Carmichael Society of Tufts University. The
adult education component has two ESOL conversation groups
run community members.
