Sample the delicious tastes from participating immigrant-run Somerville restaurants at YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City. Meet friends new and old at a fun and satisfying benefit for The Welcome Project at Arts at the Armory on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7:00 pm.
Enjoy tastes from Ethiopia, Mexico, the Mediterranean, Turkey, Brazil, Italy, Nepal, Portugal and more.
The 2013 YUM event features:
- the diverse tastes of 11 immigrant-run Somerville restaurants
- First annual Intercultural City Award to the East Somerville Community School PTA
- Live music by Son Del Sol
- A silent auction
- Special appearance by the Underground Railway Theater's Roots of Liberty project

Buy Tickets / Sponsorships
Event tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door and include an evening of culinary tastes from YUM restaurants and local entertainment from around the world.
Individual Event Sponsorships
Please consider making a difference and being part of our event by becoming an individual sponsor. All proceeds from YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City support programs for immigrant youth, adults, and families in Somerville. To ensure your name is listed on the event invitation, make your sponsorship donation by mail or online Friday, March 15, 2013. Support the work of The Welcome Project by sponsoring at one of the following levels:
SILVER: $100- Your name listed as a Silver Sponsor in the event invitation and YUM program book.
- 1 complimentary ticket to YUM celebration.
- Your name listed as a Gold Sponsor in event invitation and the YUM program book.
- 2 complimentary tickets to YUM celebration.
- 2 YUM restaurant cards, providing a 10% discount on food orders over $25 at participating restaurants.
- Your name listed as a Platininum Sponsor on the invitation, the YUM program book, and on our website.
